Planned transfers between opportunities would be a great addition to Current. Your comments here are fantastic and really help us understand why you’d like to see this added to Current and how it could work – thanks!

Across all of our customer channels, building a purchasing module is the most popular feature request so we prioritized this. Now we’ve got the first phase of purchasing released in beta, planned transfers is next up from the wishlist.

Sorry to keep everyone waiting for so long – we’ve not forgotten that so many of you find this important. We’ll be back as soon as we’ve got more information to share.

Could someone from Current please give us an update on this? I ran into this today... again! We have 6 shows over a 1 week period and need gear to flow from one show to another. Some of it never even comes back to the shop but is trucked to the next location. I have created a field in the database called Quick Turn for these items but just like today... I missed one and it went on the wrong truck. I think if we could at least get some feedback from the Admins of the wishlist that would at least tell us what is going on. Top request going on at least 2 years now...

My head hurts from all the quick turns and hot shots we are doing over this one week period and this is just the start of our busy months.

My main issue with the auto costing is that sub rents are not always the same cost. We get a quote from a vendor and sometimes a 50" monitor is $100 sometimes it is $150 depending on what they have available and if they have to ship it in from another location.

Auto costing just doesn't work very well the way it is implemented for us. We end up just entering a manula cost for the entire cost which doesn't report well when you want to see what cross rentals cost us at the end of the month. Bummer.

We’re investigating this for future development, thanks for the votes and comments!

It’d be really interesting to hear everyone’s thoughts on how you’d envisage this feature working, as well as any common scenarios where you’d like to be able to select alternative products.

Let us know in the comments – your feedback is really useful.

Would be nice if you were able to have the picker show items in the same product group when showing you options. I would call this feature "swap" compared to other rental inventory systems I have used. I want to swap out a piece of gear for the same price that does the same function.

That's why having it display that items product group would be handy and you wouldn't have to add the alternative products across the system. Be much easier to manage and simplify the picker at the same time.

    Scenario
If I have a 55" monitor on the order but it is overbooked it would present me with the group 50" and above monitors group that I have created and I could select another monitor to send it it's place from that group that would work for the rental.

    Just my 2cents.

You should be able to add for example a cable trunk when in the quote stage that has 0 quantities for cables in the trunk. Some sales guys don't know what cables and lengths they will need when quoting. Just that there needs to be a cable trunk and the engineers or warehouse fills in this information.

If we could add these with zero quantities it would allow us to add the quantities later when it actually becomes a quote or after they sign off on the event. I understand that you won't have a clear picture of stock vs reserved but you don't have a clear picture if they simply don't add the cables in the first place.

The sales guy could add the trunk to the quote and then an engineer could follow up by adding the appropriate cables once they see a room diagram or talk to the sales person.

Too many times the sales guys add the trunks without adding any accessories to that trunk and it gets missed easily in the warehouse if they have multiple shows going out.

    The option would be nice.

I again want to bump this need up on the list.... Spending a lot of time on this one still...

We need this! Having to line by line edit labor is really takes a lot of time. Being able to select a group and set the date/time when the group is already created would save me at least 2 hours every day!

Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll keep an eye on the number of votes on this one.

One thing that might help in the meantime is customizing your document layouts to include a date stamp. You can use this as a point of reference when dealing with different revisions.

To add a date stamp, the Liquid you’ll need is {% 'now' %}. Use date filters to change how the date is formatted.

We provide a free service to make changes to documents, so if you need help with this then just let us know at help@current-rms.com.

Current needs versioning without creating multiple opportunities.

I think we should create an Opportunity and then be able to create versions underneath that opportunity. As many as you want.

You should be able to select which version you want to run against inventory(reserve) and be your current version that you are working off of. It would have it's own attachments, resources, services, etc.

Having multiple opportunities of the same show just seems sloppy to me. I want one Opportunity with multiple nested versions under that one opportunity. It would keep the Opportunity page cleaner too...

I created an invoice field for opportunities and one for projects and use that field to calculate the remaining balance. Works great.
