It sounds like this is something that we could achieve with a document layout change.

You can access the status of an asset in your document layouts using {{ asset.status_name }}, which makes it possible to determine whether an item is allocated, prepared, issued etc. This means that you could use a bit of logic to pull through only assets with a particular status, so a picking list could be created that shows only assets that are Reserved (i.e. not prepared).

If you’re familiar with HTML & CSS, check out our document layouts guides to get started. If not, we can make these document layout changes for you. Contact us at help@current-rms.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Thanks for your comment. In Current RMS, we give you the flexibility to charge for your services using a day rate, hour rate, distance rate (per mile/km), or a flat fee.

While there’s no option to specify a half day rate against a service, when putting together an opportunity it’s easy to specify that you’re charging for half a day by entering 0.5 in the rate quantity field:

Current RMS will calculate the service charge accordingly:

If you’d like help with this, just let us know at help@current-rms.com.

Projects might be a good way to handle this. With a project , you can group together opportunities and generate project quotations or project invoices, allowing you to quote or bill for multiple jobs at once.

In this case, you could have an opportunity for the ‘main’ option, and then other opportunities for the other options.

On project quotations, this would show up underneath the first quotation, and we could customize the layout to make it clear that it’s an alternative. If the alternative were not needed, just mark as dead it to avoid invoicing it.

Email us at help@current-rms.com if you need a hand with this – happy to help!

Just a quick update on this one to say thanks for all the votes and comments – we’re watching this one closely.

Keep in mind that you can use the “Discussion email address” on an opportunity to CC or BCC messages into the Discussions section of an opportunity. This is great if you’d like to send correspondence from your existing email app but wish to record a copy in Current for your reference. You’ll find a link to the email address under Actions.

We’ve added a couple of keyboard shortcuts to Current RMS to streamline adding products and services.

From an opportunity page, hit ctrl + alt + p to bring up the product picker and ctrl + alt + i to bring up the ‘add new opportunity item’ screen.

The picker optimized for keyboard use: use the ↹ tab key to move through all of the ‘quantity to add’ fields and hit ↵ enter to add to your opportunity.

Comment or vote on this idea to let us know if there’s any other shortcuts you’d like to add. We’ll keep our eye on this suggestion to see if it gains momentum.

Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll keep an eye on the number of votes on this one.

One thing that might help in the meantime is customizing your document layouts to include a date stamp. You can use this as a point of reference when dealing with different revisions.

To add a date stamp, the Liquid you’ll need is {% 'now' %}. Use date filters to change how the date is formatted.

We provide a free service to make changes to documents, so if you need help with this then just let us know at help@current-rms.com.
