Yes please. Would be best if you could set up an entity, and be able to designate it as any or all of Organisation, Contact, or Venue. So for example, John Smith living at Smith Park House & Gardens might contract with us to hire kit on one job, be a contact on another job, and be the venue for a third job - at the moment we have to have him on the system 3 times over, as an Organisation, a Contact, and a Venue.
Cheers for the suggestion, we’ll monitor the number of votes on this one. A couple of things that might help in the meantime:
- Create a bunch of draft opportunities with dates in the future and tag them with “template” or something similar. Set the drafts up as you like. When you want to use a template, filter your opportunities by the “template” tag and then simply clone the one you need.
- You can copy & paste easily between opportunities – great for opportunities that have similar kit.
This would be useful. I use a template and clone it but I have the same problem with picking up the up-to-date version of a product - for example if the replacement cost has changed. Also can you do something with the date functions?
An annual event - when I complete the opportunity for this year I'd like to be able to roll it forward for next year. I could clone it, but ideally I'd like to be able to tell it the event dates for next year and it will automatically change all the date settings within the opportunity - all the delivery, set up, prep information etc as well as individual service dates within the opportunity.
A client has 6 events this winter - all are identical - I have set up a quote for the first and used the External description to tell the client that this quote is per event and stated the dates. Now I'd like to be able to click on 'Repeat' rather than clone, and do the same thing as above with dates, so that I now have 6 opportunities all ready to go.
We updated the servers today so that now you can grab the latest product and service costs and prices 🔄
As mentioned previously, refreshing accessory configuration and is a much larger task so we’ll keep monitoring feedback on this here and in our other customer channels. If it’s proving popular, we can look to put some dev resource behind it.
Planned transfers between opportunities would be a great addition to Current. Your comments here are fantastic and really help us understand why you’d like to see this added to Current and how it could work – thanks!
Across all of our customer channels, building a purchasing module is the most popular feature request so we prioritized this. Now we’ve got the first phase of purchasing released in beta, planned transfers is next up from the wishlist.
Sorry to keep everyone waiting for so long – we’ve not forgotten that so many of you find this important. We’ll be back as soon as we’ve got more information to share.
Please please please get this sorted! We have 12 stock shortages on our dashboard and all of them are because of date clashes. It makes it really hard to track what's really a problem and what isn't!
Could really benefit from this - have just spent 15 minutes trying to figure out why one of our jobs is showing a shortage when there isn't one - and it's because the stock went straight from one job to another last week - so the whole thing is pink with exclamation marks even though the problem was in the past!
Alternatively or also - being able to move dated items using a drag and drop functionality - at the moment in the resource planner I can drag a given service onto a resource and drop it there - but I sometimes need to drag it to a different day, or make it longer or shorter (eg change it to a half day instead of a full day). I'd like to be able to do this from the resource planner and have it automatically update in the opportunity.
Yes please. I am about to turn 30 of this year's jobs into next year's jobs - to do that I have to clone each one, change the event, delivery and collection dates in the opportunity, and then go into each individual service item within the job to change the date. I also have to change all the dates within each service item, so that's 2 dates in each service item, and a job might have 10 different service items within it - so just to roll a job forward to next year I will have to change around 20 dates. Can we please have an option to 'roll forward' where you could just specify the start date of the event and the system will automatically work out where each item will fall based on the same pattern as the existing opportunity?
We’re investigating this for future development, thanks for the votes and comments!
It’d be really interesting to hear everyone’s thoughts on how you’d envisage this feature working, as well as any common scenarios where you’d like to be able to select alternative products.
Let us know in the comments – your feedback is really useful.
This would be really useful to us - particularly as described by Josh Small below - an extra item in the drop down list on the opportunity so that we could swap the item instantly; availability would be immediately updated and if there were accessories etc they would automatically swap too.
