  2. Use LinkedIn social media site API's to pull information and keep it up to date automatically.

    If an organisation or person record email address matches LinkedIn then it would be good for it to pull information into the record to keep it up to date. This could be things like the person image etc.

    Microsoft Outlook does this using it's social media connector add in that is now standard with Office 365 version of Outlook.

    It would also be good to be able to pull information from the Organisation news feed on LinkedIn (and to that end from any specified RSS feed) so that when you open an organisation record you can see the latest things…

  3. Sales only opportunities

    We deal with a lot of sales orientated jobs as well as hires and so the sales section do not need to have items checked back in to complete the job. It would be good to be able to state that an opportunity is sales only at point of creation and therefore does not have any form of check in or similar.

    Current RMS is primarily a rental management solution, so our default documents do include information about the rental period.

    All of the documents that come with Current are fully customizable using HTML & CSS so they can be adjusted to remove references to rental for opportunities that only contain sales items.

  5. Show orders on dashboard even when delivery and collection fields are empty

    At this moment orders without specific delivery and collection periods are not show at the dashboard, maybe the rental period can be used when this fields are empty to prevent orders from not showing.

  6. Add a 'Rehearsals' option between the 'Setup' and 'In Use' in the scheduling section

    It would be helpful to include in the Scheduling section when creating a new opportunity, a 'Rehersals' option, between the 'Setup' and 'In Use' options. This would enable creating a more accurate description/schedule in quotes and better event/staff management.

    As an example, my Setup is 7am - 12pm, my rehearsals are 1pm - 5pm and my show is 6pm - 11pm. If i could have identified rehearsals here, it would indicate 1hr window (12 - 1 and 5 - 6) for lunch/dinner break, etc. It would also be clear for the client to see on the quote/proposal and any other…

    Custom fields are a great way to add additional fields to your Current RMS system. For rehearsals, you can add a date picker custom field to your opportunities screen so it’s available to fill in when you’re putting together opportunities.

    Custom fields can be pulled through to document layouts, too.

  8. In availability day view could be set to 10 min increments

    I need a more detailed view to see when my equipment leaves and comes back. In the day view change from 1 hour to at least 10 min blocks.

  9. Custom domain name mapping

    It would be good to be able to be able to cname map a sub domain or custom domain name to our own *.current-rms.com portal address.

    This would then facilitate for easier remembrance of the web address and logging in as well as a good starting point for when the customer portal is rolled out at a later stage so the customer sees a more integrated version.

  10. Multiple Locations for Bulk Stock

    We have multiple locations for bulk stock in one store.

    20 units on Rack 1 Shelf 1
    20 units on Rack 1 Shelf 2

    At the moment Current cannot allow for this.

  11. Clearbooks Invoice Integration

    We use Clearbooks as our accounts package, which we're very happy with. This allows our accountant access when required, and is easy for us to gain access wherever we may be.

    I'd like to avoid using Current RMS for invoicing, as this will effectively be duplicating our existing way of issuing invoices to our clients.
    However, with that said, being able to issue invoice information via Current RMS and into Clearbooks would be very handy indeed.

  12. Extend the colour code for the Detail View

    It would make things clearer on the detail view if the colour code used on the "Prepared"\"Allocated"\"Reserved" button was extended all the way left to the item description as a background colour. It would then be very obvious how much of an order was at what stage of the process.

  13. Quick rate and stock

    I'd like to be able to fill in rate and stock at once when you create a new product. Going to a new page to add stock and another one to add a rate is rather time consuming when entering a lot of products.

  14. Automatic pickup (delivery) and return (collection) times

    In our business, 99.5% of rentals are customer collects/returns, and we work on Calendar days.

    It would be great if we could set opportunities automatically to arrange the gear pickup time at 1500 hours the business day prior to the first day of hire, and 1000 hours the next business day (Monday to Friday).

  15. Stock quantity updates on opportunity detail view

    When you check an order in with missing / lost stock quantities it would be far easier if when you entered an amount in either of those boxes that it automatically deducted that from the total to be checked in ie if you have 100 to check in and 10 missing, it changes the total to check in to 90 instead of having to manually update this yourself (deducting the missing qty first).

    also when you have missing / damaged items returned, if the stock held figure for this item was updated at the same time this would also be…

  16. Speak scanned barcoded items

    When scanning items in and out I find my self scanning the item and then checking the list to make sure it worked. It'd be really handy if Current read out the item name of the barcode scanned. Would be especially useful when I'm scanning in a bulk load of cable for example, just listen out for "5m XLR" rather than double checking after every time.

  17. Page navigation links at top

    I’m doing a load of data input work on a relatively lo spec laptop, which means the First/Prev/Next/Last links are off the bottom of the screen. It would be really handy to have them at the top as well…

  18. Create new organisation button on supplier list

    Could the Create New Organisation hyperlink which exists in the Create New Opportunity screen be added to the Create New Project screen and below the Store/Supplier field in the Edit Opportunity Item/Sub-Rent Allocation dialogue. It would be really useful not the have to come out of the narrative of building or allocating a show just to add a new supplier.

    For businesses where the norm is for the customer to collect and return the equipment, it would be good to have a setting so this is ticked

  20. Autopopulate opportunity name

    I'm not sure how other rental businesses work, but I don't see the need to force the user to think of a 'name' for each opportunity. It's the organisation or client's name that is more important.

    I also suggest swapping the emphasis on the name of the opportunity around with the contact/organisation name. So that the client's name is on top and large, while the opportunity name is smaller and on bottom.

    Maybe the opportunity name could be automatically populated with 'Company/Client name - [System wide predefined text]'
