Custom Reports

A reporting framework that could have a series of pre made reports such as:

- item history
- revenue/profit per item
- top performing customers
- average hire values

And then some form of syntax/sql to allow for us to create our own custom reports from the data available. Sirportly (www.sirportly.com) does this really nicely.

    Must have:

    Invoices total p/mth
    Quotes total p/mth
    Orders total p/mth
    Void opportunities p/mth

This allows us to know at a glance what is billed / going to be billed / maybe going ahead / lost opportunities. These should be preset drop down options. Everything must be date range manipulatable.

    Also: a report that shows

-Sales by Month, Year, date range, to see at a glance how we are tracking

All the reports must be viewed within Current and not rely on exporting out to Excel !!!!!!

Permission Levels: Reporting should be separate permission even for Admins.
e.g.: I need an IT admin, but that admin does not need to see reporting.

Creating Custom Views is a big hassle and not how I want to operate.
Alternatively why can't Current give us an update with all these Custom Views as presets - couldn't that be done immediately?

It would be essential to have custom reports for the Quarantine as well. We'd love to have an option to download a CSV file reporting the amount of items in QR, how long they have been in there, estimated loss of hire, etc...

For us it is vital to know the occupation of our stock, for this we should be able to issue list that will incorporate that information or at least the number of days of rent of each asset.

It would be very handy to see reports for "Text" items. Or just being able to view the text items within the existing "Product rental income" report.

Great that we can sort via days, but the majority of the reports are useless! Custom reports are a must. I know we can sort of create them ourselves using the "View" function and downloading a CSV File but its not the same as being able to generate specific reports

So for example, I can produce a report for shareholders that tells them in August I have $75k of work and costs associated with these jobs is $30k which will give us a profit from the jobs of $40k.

Great idea, and essential. Everything from equipment ROI to sales by staff would be highly valuable to all I'm sure.

    Hello,

One report that would be a crucial addition is a live overview of sub hires. We'd love being able to track all incoming / outstanding sub hire items on any given day.

It is essential to have customised reports in any business! This would be helpful to improve reporting in Current. As posted above "how to summarize it (count, total), which fields to summarize it (per venue, per store, etc) and what date range to use."

  • Martin Elin commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

A powerful tool to most businesses is the ability to create customized reports. It does not need to be very complicated, just simply an ability to select the type of data to summarize, how to summarize it (count, total), which fields to summarize it (per venue, per store, etc) and what date range to use.

Reports like these will help in improving target marketing, up-sells, planning, and more

Reports have not been updated or improved since I started with Current.

I feel there needs to be better detailed reports, for example showing the report year by year etc.

Also profit and loss has been added to opportunities so therefore there should be a report per year for P&L.

    Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your comment. There's no report that shows a breakdown of revenue by asset at the moment, but you can quickly check to see how much a particular asset has made for you by clicking on the asset number under the Stock Levels heading of a Product page. The total lifetime revenue for the asset is on the details pane on the right, e.g. http://bit.ly/1SEyvXI

We're still reviewing the reporting functionality in Current RMS. We'll be looking to add a way to filter reports by date in the coming months. As always, we'll post any updates on this page.

    Best wishes,
    Michael

Generally very impressed with current, all I really would like is the ability to see total revenue per asset, not just per product type. That way I can see which products have paid for themselves and which ones are getting long in the tooth.

Would Love to see Inventory reports, Total Rental Reports, Equipment usage etc.

One particular area which would be very helpful when running a business is generating financial reports. For example generating a profit & loss functionality for each event, plus running monthly revenue reports.

    generating profit

Being able to create custom reports would be very helpful. Example: Name of product, barcode number, current location (Active? out on Job? Who has it?)

    Hi Guys

Just starting out with Current and are impressed so far, essentials required for review are business detailed reports as listed below on the 10th Dec, also PAT Test module so needs adding asap, can you give some sort of timeline when these features can be added as they are essential to all businesses. Thanks Glen

    Love Current.
    Almost no real world Reporting.

Great feedback below. The first stage of the reporting module includes reports that were most requested by our customers. However, we appreciate this is a first stage release and we'll be looking to build on this further in future.

Don't forget the power behind custom views for reporting-style functionality: http://help.current-rms.com/knowledgebase/articles/608418 . If you'd like a hand setting these up, just let us know.

    Thanks,
    Michael
