Automatic pickup (delivery) and return (collection) times
In our business, 99.5% of rentals are customer collects/returns, and we work on Calendar days.
It would be great if we could set opportunities automatically to arrange the gear pickup time at 1500 hours the business day prior to the first day of hire, and 1000 hours the next business day (Monday to Friday).
Let people have calendar day based bookings, with automatic collection/return times business day prior and afterwards.
Pretty much every Film & Television rental house works on customer collection/returns. If someone books something for a Wednesday, they will typically pick it up the afternoon before and return it the day after.
Currently you have to manually select Tuesday 2pm start, Thursday 10am return, select Customer Collects, select customer returns, change chargeable days to 1, and set in use period from 00:00 Wednesday - 23:55 Wednesday.
Very time consuming for every single job.

Since you last explored Current RMS, the date pickers have been rewritten completely in response to customer feedback that they were slow to display for some users :)
I would love to see an option to copy the charging dates and times to the delivery and collection dates and times. Perhaps a checkbox if you wish to replicate or not. Its extremely time consuming and frustrating to copy the same detailed information over and over.
default times are essential. For deliveries and collections we offer an AM or PM slot with timed delivery as extra (like a courier company). Could this be an additional option? The timings option is very clunky atm
It would be good if the Collection date automatically matched the delivery date when entered. This would be easier for booking in advance, so if I add the of 30 September, the collection date automatically changes to 30 September. It is then easier to change that date if need be in September, rather than going through every month in the calendar selection again.
Ability to make an Opportunity All Day v specific times

The calendar picker is EXTREMELY slow, may be due to latency from Australia, and can't be reasonably typed in with a keyboard. The combination of this, and having to set all six field dates and times manually is probably the main reason I would not adopt Current.
We currently have to enter in TWENTY FOUR different fields to do a booking, and that's if it's in the same month. (Date, Hour, Minutes x 8). This is extremely impractical and I can see my end users throwing the computer at the wall in frustration. Especially if you have a customer on the phone waiting while you fumble around. A paper based system would be many magnitudes faster.
Please supply some feedback on this!

Also even just being able to remove the start and end rate hours for calendar day rates would be useful.
No need for the 08:00:00 12/02/2015 etc. It's very confusing as it mimics your business hours. I can see a lot of our clients ringing up asking why they can only use the equipment between 08.30 to 17.00.
Original poster here. I realise I didn't type my sentences in correctly.
To summarize, with Current RMS it seems that your default start of hire and end of hire times are your opening hours in your system setup.
If you use calendar days, like a lot of rental companies do in film and tv, you would want it to just start at midnight and end the following midnight, or 11.55 etc. And your 'rent out' and 'planned check in' time should be definable. I would like 1300 hours the business day before, and 1000 hours the business day after as defaults.
