Allow for planned transfers between opportunities

For example.

We own twenty lights

Ten lights are on job A. Job A ends on Monday, de-rigs on Tuesday and is back to the warehouse on Wednesday.

All twenty lights are needed for Job B. Job B rigs on Tuesday...

What we do in real life is this, the warehouse preps the ten remaining lights and sends them to site on Tuesday. We also get a courier or technician to transport the ten lights from Job A to the New Job at B...

Current shows this as a BIG CLASH and for the whole of tuesday and wednesday we appear to be ten lights short.

Also, the warehouse never get the ten lights back from Job A, caution confusion when they try to scan things back in.

What would be good would be an option on an item to say that that item specifically was going to be transferred on a given date/time to a new opportunity. You'd select the opportunity in this option as well, and it could even add it to the list for you. In availability view there would be some form of colour or visual indicator that showed the planned transfers.

Anybody else got any thoughts on this?

Planned transfers between opportunities would be a great addition to Current. Your comments here are fantastic and really help us understand why you’d like to see this added to Current and how it could work – thanks!

Across all of our customer channels, building a purchasing module is the most popular feature request so we prioritized this. Now we’ve got the first phase of purchasing released in beta, planned transfers is next up from the wishlist.

    Yes, really need the ability to transfer items from one opportunity to another without checking them in first.

    It would be useful to transfer allocated asset to another opportunity. This would help when a client keeps asset for another job where it is more practical to keep for a dead period instead of picking up.

    Also i have had clients picked up some or all asset from each other directly.

    I know we can currently extend an opportunity however PO's, Invoicing and planning become confusing i want to keep this separate.

    Maybe an option much like the "move outstanding items to a new opportunity" can have a new option of "Move outstanding items to another Opportunity" on the finalisation of an order?

    A good idea that we talked about the first time we got a demo. One of the obvious points in the process of being able to do this would be once you check everything that has been returned in and any remaining items can be moved to a new opportunity, an option to move the still booked out items (along with all the barcode/serial number data) to an existing opportunity would be great. This way all the data is transferred to the new job so when it arrives back in the warehouse the scanning in would work perfectly.

    I'm worried about how to manage this quick turnover as well. We havent hit one yet. I'm considering doing it as subhires, with the supplier set to ourselves...

    When things get busy for us, and i'm sure many other production houses, many items come off various jobs and go to other various jobs in a very short period of time, sometimes without the opportunity to check in a full order before said items need to be turned over to the next show. Sometimes these items are even placed in a runners vehicle between show sites before the last job officially ends.

    It would be great if there was a way to mark items on, say, [Job A] as "Quick-Turn to: [Job B]" and have this information show up in the [Job B] items list as "Quick-Turned from [Job A]" with a corresponding printable document that details all "Quick-Turned Items From: [Other Jobs]" and a separate printable document that details "Quick-Turn To: [Other Jobs]" with the additional ability to swap items mid job and keep track of/record the movement of said items within the "detailed view" section and have that update the corresponding "Quick-Turn" statuses within each order items list as well as the booked/availability statuses of each item.

    This would help us immensely. Thanks!

    Yes please! Also, the ability to copy sections of an item list to other quotes. Example: copy the "Power Distribution" section from one quote/order to another.

    In our business, it often happens that we send gear from one show directly to another, but it is supplemented by a shipment that we send from our warehouse. Currently, when you check in equipment it will make a new opportunity. It would be helpful to schedule and check out equipment from one opportunity to the next.
