Services Module addon that allows contractors to accept or deny work

The services module is great. Using it for all jobs now. Only thing that would be nice is a electronic way to confirm contractors on jobs. Similar to the online quote accept. You send them a link, they click yes or no and then it gets the appropriate status after that. Also the iCal feeds for each contractor/employee show up the events even if they aren't confirmed. Would be good if it didn't go in there iCal feed till they are confirmed onto the job.

    Hi all, just adding my comments/suggestions to this string..

    It would be great if the system could do the following for crew and supplier:

    'Allocate' sends an email with some content similar to "Are you/your equipment available for this/these dates"

    'Reserve´ sends an email after they have confirmed availability to say "We are now in the process of finalising the event please await confirmation".

    'Confirmed' email and calendar link with "This event is now confirmed" etc.

    Just another comment to say we're still waiting for improvement of this area. I still think a great idea is two-way sync with G-suite calendars (without the 2-6 hr delay) with calendar invites as a way to accept/decline shifts.

    How about the ability for contractors to have current wide 'accounts'.

    How this would work:

    'Ben' creates an account on Current on which he can adjust his profile which includes cost rate, contact details, PLI details etc. He can see his calendar with job details, with access through to packing lists and job documents. he can find his PO there which is pulled directly from that companies' account. he can accept jobs from here.

    This would be global so he can see his job details of any business on the current system.
    - He can also sync his google / ical / calendar with Current. for ease of use. -

    It would also mean, that we the businesses can see when ben is available. we might be able to see his calendar, much like we can create a calendar for bookable assets now. this could be restricted to busy / free.

    Obviously someone needs to pay for these accounts or money should be made somewhere.. Imagine if current had bought freeagent instead of RBS...

    What is clear is with things like challenger banks and tech startups. People are very receptive to having all the related services linked in to one hub. Current could be the hub for all these services. They could be offering contractors PLI services, accounting linked with sage.

    Imagine, Ben could be using current as much as we all do. he could get temp acess to picking lists when he's bought on a 3 month contract. He could submit his expenses through current which would go on the job.

    Big thinking here, but I mean we're all awaiting the current revolution to a formidable service.

    Is there any updates to this Wishlist item? I haven't seen any updates on this from the Current staff since 2016.

    Our team would greatly utilize this addition. In our scenario we have employees whose job it is to schedule event technicians to our opportunities. Currently we allocate techs to opportunities and then have to call them all, leave messages, and make sure to follow up to get confirmation on tech bookings for each job. Doing all of this while allowing enough time to find someone else if the allocated technician is unavailable that day or time. This can quickly turn into a gigantic task in the fast paced environment of the live production industry.

    What I would like to see is a way for an automated email to be sent to the email on file for that technician once the technician is allocated that provides a unique link to open a webpage displaying the name of the opportunity and service assigned where he/she can click either Accept, or Decline. Once the selection is chosen it would reflect this in the services view of that opportunity.

    In addition, it would be nice for a tag on the opportunity in the opportunities list to display (3 of 5 services confirmed) to quickly allow the office staff to know the progress of confirmations. This way if a technician hits decline we know that the tech has been marked as declined in the service view and that particular opportunity needs attention. Without a notification of sorts on the main list a tech could decline the event and it would be hard to catch without periodically going into each opportunity service view through our giant list of opportunities.

    Not sure if you can do this already but a great thing to add to this is a display change in the Job Planner. Looking at the Job planner it would be great if you could make all jobs with no allocated services appear in RED, allocated services to appear in YELLOW, then once the crew have confirmed they can do the shift the job should appear Green.
    This would make the job planner so much easier to navigate and see what jobs still need to be crewed and if your awaiting confirmations from crew.

    Would be great if we could upload a document that contains all the information like patch sheet, stage plots ect and the contractor can download it once they have accepted the job.

    Pretty much a contractor portal, I don't see the need to give them an entire user because all they need to see is when they have been booked, some documents that relate to that job and the ability to accept work. Possibly able to send email notifications when they get requested to work.

    It would be amazing if this included time clock functionality that would export to Xero payroll. We currently use Deputy for time tracking, but it requires us to duplicate every service in Current (to bill clients) and Deputy (to schedule and pay staff). Additionally, when we send a final invoice we have to go back into Deputy and verify that the hours worked match the hours we estimated for clients. If clock in/clock out was integrated into Current, employees could be scheduled, accept shifts and clock into them and PM's could see the actual hours on the opportunity as they bill clients.

    Our suggestion for this is to add two-way sync with google calendars / G Suite.
    Currently rostering is very time consuming for us, with lots of clicking and creating activities to record casual staff / contractors availability / unavailability.
    I would love it if we could authorise Current to have access to a google calendar for each of our active bookable contacts.

    If they have existing bookings in their calendar, e.g. meetings or periods of unavailability, these would then appear in the resource planner, un-editable (this would save hours of checking availability of casual staff).
    When we assign them to a service, they should be sent a calendar invite for the booking. If they accept it, their booking should turn green in the resource planner, to mark as confirmed.
    If they decline the invite, it should turn another colour (purple?) or be marked somehow, so we know to assign someone else.

    The ability to send a bulk email to advertise first-in-gets-the-work services would be handy, but should be optional because it’s not alway appropriate.

    I’d sign up tomorrow if you guys would simply have a better way of sending shifts to my techs.

    Sending them a iCal invite has it’s faults. Google does not update my techs calendars as frequently as

    we need. If the call time or shift goes away after I send them the invite, they don’t see that for sometimes 8 hours.

    You need to create an app or a link that they receive that allows them to reply to a shift in real time.

    Our industry makes changes due to weather, actor schedules and all kinds of things.

    I am forced to try another competitors RMS due this this problem. The only other company that has addressed this is Rentman.

    I am loading all my inventory into it as I type this.

    To add to this, we have been using another software in the mean time while waiting for this feature to be added, and one thing that it can do is spam out a request to multiple crew and first one to take it gets the shift,

    for example, with bump ins and outs it often doesnt matter who takes it. So we just create the shift and put it out to them to see who takes it first.

    Ideally this system would also allow users to clock in and clock out of events and sync that information back to Xero payroll so we can get rid of our time card app. It is confusing for freelancers to have so many places to check shifts that don't sync.

    I would love to give our freelance crew the opportunity to confirm their allocated shifts, to alleviate the need to chase up.
    Ideally, this would be a separate permissions item so that crew can't access other functions of the package.
    I also like the fact it turns confirmed orders green, so we would only need to chase up those still in orange. Easy but effective!

    Very good idea indeed. I work this way with another CMS i use. When did the status change to planned? WHat would be a rough idea of timeline? 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, >1 year?

    This would really top current off nicely. We record all freelancer bookings in current, and it is a pain having to assign them, ask them, wait for a reply, add their reply to current... Like mentioned in the original post, it would be very nice for freelancers to be able to see their status in the ical feed - so they know if they've been confirmed.

    When I assign a external crew member to a service on a job Id like an easy way to send a confirmation email from within current or a current write an email containing Venue details and dates.
    This would save so much time.

    It would be nice to have the ability to send a subcontractor invite through current that gets e-mailed to them. They would have the ability to accept or decline depending on their availability.

    Not sure if this applies to others as well, but this would be amazing to go a step further: we have a mostly freelance crew, so our first action is always to send an email out to our crew to see who is free for a particular job, then we end up assigning based on who is free. It would be amazing if when a quote gets converted to an order, an email went out to anyone who is bookable for a service for them to say if they're available or not. Then we assign from there, and then they accept or deny, which updates the calendar.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for your comment. Our developers have marked this as planned, meaning that it's something that we're going to look at in future. I don't have a release date for this at the moment; we work through ideas with the highest number of votes first, so it's difficult to give a date as the number of votes can change.

    I'll post back on this page when we've got more information to share.
